Catherine & Conner {Soon-to-be Perfectly Posh}

Catherine came to us several months ago with a definite theme in mind and a strong sense of self & style- a great combination! She has a soft spirit and is obviously very in love with her fiance, Conner. They will be married June 23, 2012. Posh is extremely excited and honored to be styling their entire reception decor & ceremony flowers. Please check back for photos (by Erin Moulden Photography) and details from their Perfectly Posh wedding ceremony & reception- expect lots of vintage style, personalized touches, soft pink and ivory flowers... ahhhh, I can NOT wait for this one!!

Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Bridal Show 2012

What a fabulous show!!! We enjoyed the Bridal Show in Little Rock last August, but this one was absolutely amazing! So many talented vendors, jaw-dropping displays, gorgeous gowns and tons of excited new brides. Perfectly Posh created a display with warm jewel tones of emerald green, eggplant purple, and ruby red. We also brought in a beautiful model to show off a bridal gown from Proposals in Little Rock. Everyone remarked that Sydney had the easiest job of the day lounging on that beautiful sofa from Party Time Rentals in Little Rock. Our entire booth was illuminated with up-lights provided by Central Arkansas Entertainment (speaking of- did you guys LOVE Big John Miller as much as I did!? He is always my favorite part of the Bridal Show!). After the show, we teamed up with Tia Wind Photography to capture some stylish images of our model, Sydney, all along the streets of downtown Little Rock. It was an amazing day from start to finish. To top it all off- we received an overwhelming response from so many brides and actually handed out 1,000 promotional cards during the show. What a blessing!! Enjoy a few preliminary pictures from our booth at the Bridal Show as well as a preview of the gorgeous inspirational bridal shoot from Tia Wind Photography. More to come soon...

October 8, 2011 {John & Jill Jennings}

Jill Kimmer was the lucky bride who won Posh's Big Fall Giveaway several months ago. She entered the contest conducted on Facebook by simply 'liking" Posh and sharing our page on her Facebook wall. The package totaled $2500 in coordination, design, styling, floral creation and clean-up fees. Jill was so excited to win the giveaway as it included $500 towards flowers and free floral creation. Jill was a super organized and efficient bride who knew exactly what she wanted, but was struggling to decide on a floral design and not happy about paying high prices associated with wedding flowers. We were just as excited to make her wedding day as Perfectly Posh as could be. Enjoy the finished event photos provided by Whitney Flora Photography.

*My personal favorites: The "Youngster's Lounge" to accommodate the many kiddos who attended the wedding and reception (I think this may have been the parents' favorite as well!); the hay lounge for the cocktail hour; burlap place-settings custom monogrammed by Posh with wedding date, bride & groom's initials and signature "love bird" (John's pet name for Jill).

October 2, 2011 {Philip & Angela Whitworth}

Angela Castiglia first contacted Posh just a few short weeks before her Sunday evening wedding at an Enchanting Evening in Roland, Arkansas. Her email message was short, simple and sweet (as Angela seems to always be sweet!). The message read: I have a wedding Sunday, October 2nd of this year at An Enchanting Evening. The theme is more or less a woodsy, natural one with minimal decoration. I would really love to speak with someone about how to make this work w/out looking...cheap? Bad? I'm not sure, I just know it has the potential to be really beautiful or really awful and I NEED some help! We are also in need of some floral arrangements.

Of course, we were more than happy to answer her call for help with more attention to detailed design and a bigger bang for her buck than she expected. Angela's unique sense of natural style and sophistication were our main sources of inspiration- she is a truly beautiful woman inside and out! We worked closely with Angela, mainly via email, to implement as many unique touches as possible and make her wedding day as perfect as possible... which of course means we made it Perfectly Posh! Enjoy this detail preview of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Whitworth's sweet, naturally beautiful wedding and reception.

Weddings Follow Fashion Trends

Earlier this month, Pantone revealed their Fashion Color Report for Spring 2012 which features the top color choice projections for next spring's fashion trends. I must say I was immediately smitten with the idea of "Tangerine Tango" and "Sweet Lilac" paired with a neutral beige/taupe base. So smitten in fact that I began immediately working on an inspiration board featuring this tones. Somewhere in the process, the color tones changed & I was led to softer tones... more of an orange sherbet and blush pink than true, wild tangerine and light purple lilac. Sometimes what you set out to find or create is just not where you end up, but that's where all the fun lies... in the process! Enjoy :)
Not every "Signature Cocktail" has to be an alcoholic beverage. Honestly, an orange sherbet smoothie sounds better to me than any mixed drink I can think of. If you're planning an event without liquor, use your imagine to create unique "mocktails" to compliment your event's style. Better yet... call Perfectly Posh to do it for you!

Re-thinking a Classic... Baby's Breath is Back!

Although the 80's have long-ago passed us by, there were certainly many trends from the era that shouldn't be tossed aside necessarily. If you're old enough, you probably remember fluffy, frilly, traditional wedding decor using Baby's Breath, carnations and sparse spray roses from all those 1980-1990 weddings. I sure do! Although floral design and wedding styles have certainly moved forward since "way back" then, I think we should all be re-thinking the staple Baby's Breath filler- but as the main show instead! A few years ago, we caught our first glimpse of a fabulous centerpiece or two featuring full-fluff Baby's Breath and nothing else. It was stunning!! However, other than a random Southern Bride article or Martha Stewart feature, real Arkansas brides don't seem to have jumped on board this extremely fashionable, uniquely styled, budget friendly floral design!? This puzzles me. Maybe it's just a little too different for real brides to take the chance on for their (hopefully) one-and-only big wedding day. If that's the case... how unfortunate! A large part of my job when styling a wedding is to urge a cautious bride just barely outside of her comfort zone (which is usually a little too reined-in) and open her eyes to new ways to express her unique style in a newer, more unique way. Obviously, I also really have to stretch budgets in every way possible and those budgets seem to be getting tight and tighter with our current "economic climate" (I hate that phrase). At any rate, today I'm re-thinking a classic and boldly claiming Baby's Breath is Back! Take a look at these pictures and imagine the many, many different ways a full bunch of Baby's Breath with candle light, up-lighting, pin-spots or simple natural light from a real Arkansas outdoor wedding could captivate your guests and leave you with show-stopping wedding pictures (black/white is especially beautiful). Enjoy the pictures below compiled from our idea library. I really doubt any of these will remind any of you of the 1980-1990 wedding era!

Happy Monday Everyone!
